Fully committed to an organic approach we grow grapes on several estate vineyards, across the best sub regions in Central Otago, that collectively produce wines of provenance and pleasure alike.

The winery and all estate vineyards, in the sub regions of Gibbston, Lowburn, and Bannockburn, are managed using Bio Gro certified organic practices. Our philosophy reflects a traditional and holistic wine growing ethos that we believe is critical for wines of uniqueness and authenticity.

Our winemaking is traditional in the sense that  we use natural yeasts and minimal intervention. We believe that the less we do to a wine the better the result so our aim is no fining, filtration, aids, additives or intervention. Of course there is a human element to winemaking, and a definite understanding of science is needed, we get that ! We just think that the less you interfere the better the result 

We look for textural elegance, precision, clarity, and a sense of vibrancy.  All inherent characters in the best that Central Otago has to offer.

We believe our wines should at their best express the place where they come from, transparently, whilst at the same time reflecting our house style of winemaking.

We believe in enjoying our wines and enjoying ourselves – which is part of the reason you may find we are closed in the weekends unless you ring ahead – just saying.
